Question
Hypothesis: That as the degree of urbanisation increases, the abundance of biodiveristy will decrease. How can I make this more specific/detailed?
Predictor Variable: Urbanisation
Response Variable: Biodiversity
Is the degree of urbanisation catergorical or continuous data? Why?
Is the abundance of biodiversity categorical or continuous data? Why?
Which would be my X-axis variable and which would be my Y-axis variable?
What type of graph would I expect this to be? (e.g. scatterplot, bar, line, etc.)
Explanation / Answer
3) Predictor variable present on X-axis and response variable on Y-axis. Variable of interest in the experiment called response or dependent variable. Other variable in the experiment that effect the response can be set or measured by experimentor are called predictor or independent variable.
1) Degree of urbanization is catergorial data that include several categories literacy rate, infrastructure facility, density of town etc.
2) Abundance of biodiversity is continous variable. Here, the variable can take value between maximum and minimum are called continuous variable.
4) line graph you can make between predictor variable and response variable. It represent regression analysis between predictor or response variable.
