4. Periodized Program Design
Design a periodized 15 week training program that includes 12 weeks of pre- competition and 3 weeks of in-competition training for the athlete.
Training must include both Resistance training and Cardiovascular training, and may include agility, plyometrics, speed, flexibility training if appropriate.
Select appropriate program design variables for
resistance training (exercise selection, training frequency, exercise order, training load and repetitions, volume, and rest periods)
cardiovascular training (mode, duration, type, intensity, frequency)
You must provide appropriate rationale for 1. each test selection, 2. for the overall program and for 3. each week of training.
You must write out one complete day (at least 60 minutes) routine for each week (not repeating any day) and outline the areas of focus for the remaining days / aspects of the 15 week periodized program.
