I shall answer first four subquestions :
1. As per Joint National Commission guidelines, Maria has a BP of 160 / 90 - Stage two hypertension i.e. Systolic Blood pressure more than equal to 160 or Diastolic blood pressure more than equal to 100.
2. Paleo diet can benefit, both her obesity and hypertension. Paleo diet helps with better insulin sensitivity, weight loss and reduction of blood pressure.
3. The absence of physical activity is a pointer to rebound weight gain in Maria. There is complete dependence on a diet plan and once it is stopped, there is no exercise. Hence there is weight gain again. The fact that she has reduced weight successfully in past shows that, with addition of exercise she can sustain the weight loss.
4. Waist circumference and waist:hip ratio are important parameters to know the distribution of fat and presence of central obesity.
