You are the permit writer at an environmental agency. You have been assigned to write the permit conditions for a copper mine and associated ore concentration processing equipment that discharges pollutants directly into a navigable water. answer- copper mines create in huge amount of environmental pollution. Now I am permit writer at envriormental agency. My major effort will be protect the groundwater. which is getting pollute by the leaching of the copper ore and other mineral assoicated with copper. they are also polluting subsurface aquifer. the another impact of these mines is Acid mine drainage. In which various acid like sulfuric acid, hydrchloirics acid, is outflowing from the mining site, something these water are trasported to local river. I will make some rule those rule are following

1 the have to follow all modern environemental laws, and also undertake the environmental impact accessment.

2- acid drainage should be allow to outflow in river. special treatement should be made for the elimination of these acids. do not allow the forming the sulfuic acid, also nutrilize the acid and collect seepage and runoff.

3- the tailing from the copper mine should be away from the contact with oxygen. seal them by a synthetic barrier. or bury them undergound.

4- isolate the acid generating underwater which reduce the rate by the oxygen reacts with tailing mineral

5- for the acid water treatment there should be use of base like alkali compounds like sodium oxide, sodium carbonate which reduce the acidity of these acids. and other method is creating articficial wetlands

6- mining firms must use the environmentally efficient equripment in all operation.
