Download daily data for the calendar year 2012 for three stations: Vancouver (Vancouver Int'l A), Kamloops (Kamloops A), and Montreal (Montreal/Pierre Elliott Trudeau Intl A).
Calculate the total annual precipitation and maximum daily precipitation for each of the stations
Calculate the percentage of annual precipitation that falls as snow at each station
Based on the total annual precipitation and maximum daily precipitation and the percentage of annual precipitation that falls as snow at each station, compare/contrast the precipitation regimes (1/2 page, single line spacing).
Explanation / Answer
The term precipitation itself related to the snowfall, rainfall and any climatically condensed material freely fallen from elevation. Bb analyzing the data, it is infered that the region of Vancoucer has the highest annual precipitation and Kamloop has the minimum one.
The snowfall was recorded maximum in Montreal regime following with the Kamloop and Vancoucer.
