Lake Guri Venezuela

Explain what is responsible for the boom in Tortoise population in Islands in Lake Guri, Venezuela.

Yellow Stone National Park Ecosystem (YSNPE)

What evidence led scientist to establish that the disappearance of Aspen trees in the YSNPE was not due to climate change or lack of wildfire?

Explain how the absence of Wolves in the Yellow Stone National Park (YSNPE) caused to reduction in the number of Aspen trees.

List 3 ways in which the re- introduction of Wolves has improved the functioning of the YSNPE

Explain how the removal of predatory fish by overfishing is causing the death of the coral reefs in discovery bay.

The World Wildlife Conservation (WWC) has just acquired 1,000,000 acres of Savanna grassland in Africa which they plan to convert to a nature preserve. The property has been demarcated with an electric fence to prevent animals from migrating in or out of the proposed preserve area. Hunting by humans within the proposed preserve is prohibited. An ecological survey of the preserve shows the following plants and animals to be present: Grasses, Shrubs, Buffalos, Impalas, Gazelles (deer like animal), and Lions. The management of the WWC plans to get rid of the Lions from the preserve. Explain to them why this may be a bad idea. (Hint: Be sure to show your knowledge of how organisms in ecosystems are interdependent in your answer).

Explanation / Answer

answer- lake guri is situated in venezuela it is dream destination of fishing. Its ecosystem is tropical rainforest type. this region is enriched in howler monkeys, leaf cutter ant and tourtoise. at once upon time there was boom of tortoise population in the lake guri these reason of their boom was

- fragmentation

-human flooded area which divide the lake and splits into islands

- decresed of predators due to the flood

answer- Aspen tree is the most distributed plant in the Yellowstone national park and also in United states. Over the past centuary there is disapprearence of aspen tree in yellowstone national park. there were briliant fall of foliage and trembling leaves of the aspen tree. the aspen tree can grom from underground root system.

scientist have found that the disapprent of the aspen tree is not due to climate change or due to wildfire. they disappear due to predator and prey relationship between wolves and wapiti leads to disapprence of aspen tree. the elimination of grey wolf leads to aspen disappearence. illegal hunding of volves.

answer- reintroduction of wolves in yellowstone national park have improved the functioning of yellowstone national park. Wolf was been listed in Endangerred species in 1967 under the Endangered specied preservation act of 1966.

1- reintroduction of wolves leads to decline the Elk population

2- the reduction of elk pupulation has resulted change in the flora

3- there is increse in willows, cottonplants and aspens trees

answer- overfishing of predatory fishes in discovery bay leads to the death of coral reefs. destructive fishing practice, overfishing and warming of ocean surface leads to the depth of the coral reefs. because overfishing unbalance of coral reef ecosystem by extensive growth extensive predators which eats coral colonies these predators are crowns of throns starfish. theirs enzyme disolve the coral rocks.

answer- if the lion are get rid from the prserve it will be really a bad idea. In the absence of lions there would be extensive growth of these organism like Gazelles, Buffalos because lions feed thoses organisms. these all organism are interdependent buffalos and gazelles feed shurbs and grasses. In the absence of lions the animals like Gazelles and buffalos will eat the entire the grasses and shrubs of the preserve. The presence of lion should be there to maintain ecological balance of preserve.
