1. Do states give up all power to withdraw when they join a union of states, or do they still retain some control over their fate? Would a union last if states could leave? What challenges would states face if they operated alone?
2. What are the advantages of “small” state and local government? What about
national government? What are the disadvantages of each? Does our federal
system give us the best of both worlds or the worst of both worlds?
3. The Founders clearly envisioned a smaller role for national government than
what we currently see. How have society and technology changed to allow
and/or require greater national government control?

1. Particularly, if talk about the US constitutional structure, all states have their own soverinity but cant change their dimension or area. In another word, ono one can divide or add the new states among them.
The history of civil war has putted a signature on the amendment criterion such that if a state willingly want to leave union then after it can't apart. If we consider that a state has been aparted then it has lot of issues in the federal system, every financial political cultural aspects become itself a challenge for new born state.
2. Local government has advantages like:
A.Public choice is more determined
B. Better policies formulation
C.Decisions and execution of work is more smooth and transparent
Whereas national government or federal system is recommended in larger country having different states with different religions, economic, political, and cultural aspects. Disadvantages:
Local government has a insignificant revenue system and hence the development and growth may be with slow rate.
National government has an issue of cruption and good governance.
2.with advancement and technology it has become more convenient to run national government.today transportation and production rate has reached to the fastest speed. It becomes significantly very important to have a unit and large country with enomous strength and potential.
