Explanation / Answer

PART B :

1 acetyl co enzyme A will give 3 NADH,1 FADH2,1 GTP(=ATP)

=> 3*2.5 + 1 * 1.5 + 1 = 10 ATP for 1 Acetyl CoA

=> 50 ATP for 5 acetyl CoA

PART C :

1 beta oxidation will give 1 acetyl CoA , 1 NADH , FADH2

=> 1*2.5 +1*1.5 = 4 ATP

as it is asked only for NADH and FADH2 Acetyl CoA is not used

PART D :

5 acetyl CoA enter citric acid cycle and give:

15 NADH = 37.5 ATP (by oxidative phosphorylation)
5 FADH2 = 7.5 ATP (by oxidative phosphorylation)
5 GTP = 5 ATP
4 NADH generated by beta oxidation itself = 10 ATP (by oxidative phosphorylation)
4 FADH2 generated by beta oxidation itself = 6 ATP (by oxidative phosphorylation)
Total number of ATP from 1 molecule of 10-Carbon compound are = 37.5+7.5+5+10+6=66

so 1 molecule = 66 atp
