Answered some questions ,and need help to answer the rest

Say whether the pairs of drawings below are representations of: a) identical compounds, b) constitutional isomers, c) enantioners(mirror images of each other), or d) diastereomers(not mirror image). Answers might be used more than once. (8 pis) Diastereomers Enantiomers(axis = wedge(out)) The structure below is a Fischer drawing of one of the forms of valine, a compound found in proteins. Is it D or L? Is it the natural or unnatural form of the compound? What are the organic products of the reactions below? Show only those compounds formed in appreciable amounts. If more than one is formed, circle the major product. Show stereochemistry where appropriate. (16 pts) Draw an allene, which will rotate plane-polarized light. (4 pts) Circle the chiral compounds. (6 pt) B is the answer

Explanation / Answer

4. c) enantiomer (they are mirror images)

d) identical (i think. look at the central carbon of both the left and right images and they would both be in the same plane)

5. D -- the priority begins with the CH(CH3)2 group and goes clockwise, ignoring the H because it's priority 4. these are based on atomic weight. and it's natural.
