2. Name a muscle that inserts on the metatarsals and cuneiforms.

3. The most superficial muscle in the gluteal group is the _______.

4. Name an action of the gluteal group.

5. Name the long muscle that originates on the anterior, superior iliac spine.

6. In anatomical position, the ulna is (medial/lateral) to the radius.

7. What part of the ilium does the sciatic nerve run through?

8. If a muscle originated on the posterior, inferior surface of the femur, and inserted on the posterior surface of the calcaneous bone, what kind of action might be produced? 9. Come up with a hypothetical origin and insertion of a muscle that would cause flexion at the hip

10. The fibulae contain the ______ malleoli, while the tibias contain the ______ malleoli.

Explanation / Answer

Ans1- the flexor digitizing Longus is muscle which is responsible for the flex in the toe and in invert the foot. It also play role in moving of second, third , fourth and fifth toes.

Ans 2- tibialis anterior muscle insert into the medial cuneiform and first matatersal bone of the foot.

Ans 3- gluteus maximus is most superficial muscle of gluteal group. It also named as gluteus medius and minimus.

Ans 4- the gluteus group action are rotates the lower limbs, extended support the knees and addict the hip.

Ans 5- the sartorius muscle is longest muscle that originat from anterior superior iliac spine. It long and thin.

Ans 6-ulna is medial to the radius .

And 7-the nerve enter firstly iliac crest through 3rd lumber spinal nerves .

Ans 8- it causes plantarflexes at the ankle joint .

Ans 9-Piriformis muscle which cause flex at the hip

And 10- lateral malleoli contain fibula and medial malleoli contain by tibias
