Describe the path of a somatic sensory impulses from the receptor back to the effector. Include the components of the sectional organization of the spinal cord. Plz explain it to me bc the book sucks!! Plz help!!

Explanation / Answer

The spinal cord has spinal nerves which consist of dorsal and ventral roots. the dorsal roots consist of sensory axons while the ventral roots consist of motor axons. The path is: When the sensory receptors in the skin receive a stimulus----> the signal is transmitted by the somatic sensory fibers to the dorsal root----> to the sensory axons----> to the spinal cord----->the spinal cord now sends out instructions to the motor axons of the ventral root------> to the effector organ.
