Explanation / Answer

(1) Normality of sulphuric acid N =x
     Volume of sulphuric acid V = 24.5 mL       Normality of NaOH N'= 0.324 * acidity = 0.324 *1 = 0.324 N
     Volume of NaOH V' = 35.5mL    At neutralization NV = N ' V ' From this N = 0.4694 N So, molarity of sulfuric acid M = N / basicity                                              = 0.4694 / 2                                               = 0.2347 M So, option (c) is correct (2) Zn(s) + 2HCl(aq) ----> ZnCl2(aq) +H2(g) 65.38 g of Zn reacts with 2 moles of HCl produces2.014 grams of H 2 Given no. of moles of HCl = ( 0.5 * 525 ) / 1000                                        = 0.2625 moles So, ( 65.38 / 7 )g of Zn reacts with ( 2 / 7 ) molesof HCl produces ( 2.014 / 7 ) grams of H2      9.35 g of Zn reactswith 0.2625 moles of HClproduces 0.2877  grams of H 2 So, option ( a ) is correct ( 3 ) The oxidation no. of C inC2O2-4                                                    2x + 4 ( -2 ) = -2                                              2x = +6                                                x = +3 So, option ( a ) is correct ( 3 ) The oxidation no. of C inC2O2-4                                                    2x + 4 ( -2 ) = -2                                              2x = +6                                                x = +3
