Question
You want to make a monoclonal antibody that recognizes the OG protein but not the PO protein. Therefore, a "OG - specific monoclonal antibody". To do this, you purify both OG and PO proteins. You inject the OG protein into mice and obtain their spleen B cells a few weeks after injection. You fuse these B cells with myeloma cells and obtain 4 hybridoma clones. You then test if the monoclonal antibodies produced by these hybridomas can distinguish OG from PO proteins. To do this, you run both proteins on a gel and perform Western blotting analysis using monoclonal antibodies produced by the 4 hybridomas. Therefore, you perform 4 different Western experiments. Results of these experiments are shown below. Which hybridoma produces a OG - specific monoclonal antibody? Please explain your logic briefly.Explanation / Answer
Result of B gel experiment only OG-specific monoclonal antibody because monoclonal antibody recognize OG protein only but not PO protein. So OG protein analyzed in ritght lane of B gel.
