Explanation / Answer
in the office, we use a lot of paper. sometimes, i think we even use too much for a small office. i can’t help but notice the growing pile of paper in our rough paper bin. piles and piles of fresh paper with useless things printed on it. i’ve decided to use rough paper for things i print out. i work in the reception so i don’t have important documents to print out. but i do maintain office forms and print out the occasional documents i get from the fax. i use rough paper for these things and it has somewhat reduce the use of paper from our office. at least, that’s how it seems to me. im determined to keep it up. water and electricity are my waterloo. i use too much water in bathing, washing my face and brushing my teeth. probably 80% of the water i use whenever i bath, wash my face and brush my teeth are wasted. im planning to buy a small basin and a plastic cup to use whenever i go to the washroom. i used to watch these korean movies where they fill the sink with water and use it to wash their face. i don’t have much confidence on the cleanliness of our sink here at home. so, i think i’ll stick with the water basin. :-p electricity, yes, i waste sometimes. no, maybe all the time. like right now, i have the centralized ac on and it’s supposed to be for more than one person. it’s just me and my sister here. okay,. i’ll close the AC now….. turn off lights when not in use turn off fans and other appliances when not in use HEAT Only turn on the heat when I need it Turn off the heat when the window’s open Make sure there’s nothing covering the heater ELECTRICITY Turn off the light when I don’t use it Cook more eco-friendly – lid on the pot and stuff like that! Use the after-heat! Clean the thingy that suck out the air, so it use less electricity WATER Short showers Be better at saving water when doing the dishes FOOD Don’t waste food Defreeze food in the fridge instead of using the microwave If economically possible buy organic and locally produced food BODY AND CLEANING Buy and try those soap-nuts Make my own creme Make my own body-scrub Make my own shampoo Buy one of those mineral-deodorants Buy a more eco-friendly toilet-detergent OTHER Stop buying magazines – waste of paper! Stop buying silly things I don’t need Look for christmas-presents and things I need in the second hand store, instead of buying new stuff
