Question 1
(a) Lithography belongs to Top-down approach. This is because in Lithography a bigger dimension material is reduced to get the desired Nano size material. For example in case of Photolithography a sheet of photosensitive material in bombarded with light to make nano sized structures.
(b) Vapour-liquid-solid(VLS) growth belongs to Bottom-up approach. This is because in case of VLS one dimensional nano sturctures are created by depositing one layer after other with the help of catalyst.
(c) Substitutional Impurity is observed when a foreign atom or ion occupies a lattice position. In this case C represents substitutional impurity.
(d) First option is correct in this case. Due to smaller size the surface to volume ration of nanomaterial is higher than normal material. For example if you divide a sphere into n spheres, the surface area will increase by a higher value than the volume occupied by the spheres.
Note: Answering only first question according to Chegg guidelines.
Also since the energy of surface atoms are higher due to imbalance of forces, the surface energy of nanomaterial are large.
