The Night King is beyond the wall with 8 white walkers. This week they are conquering substitutions and eliminations 8 bottles have been set out containing the following reagents/compounds bromomethane bromoethane 2-bromopropane 2-bromo-2-methylpropane sodium methoxide solution sodium t-butoxide solution methanol sodium cyanide dissolved in acetone Events conspire against The Night King. He arrives late and each white walker has already taken one bottle each. Even worse, the bottles were arranged in a particular order but were not labeled. He also lost his master seating chart and can't really remember anyone's name or where they sit. He has the following white walkers in his ranks Mirri, Jory, Doreah, Viserys, Ros, Benjen, Taylor, Syrio The boys are: Jory, Viserys, Benjen, and Syrio The seats (benches) are labeled 1 through 8 (1 and 8 are on the extreme ends and have only one neighbor each) The Night King knows the following information 1. The haloalkanes all have green caps. Reagents all have black caps 2. Boys sit in seats 1-4 3. Jory, Doreah, Ros and Syrio took bottles with black caps 4. Students in even number seats all took bottles with green caps 5. The Night King recognizes Benjen who is sitting in seat 4 Time is running short so not all reactions can be run and not all of the white walkers are that efficient. When white walkers mix some of the haloalkane with a reagent, they will either get a substitution reaction (by evidence of a precipitate, presumably the salt of the leaving group) or an elimination reaction (by evidence of a color change) or no reaction (eg, no ppt or color change) The Night King decides to let the lab run and will try to figure out who everyone is and where they are sitting. The students are to compile their data by yelling it out so all can hear 6. The person in seat 6 yells out that they get no reaction with Syrio's reagent 7. Syrio yells out that he gets a ppt with Mirri, Viserys, and Benjen's compounds 8. Ros says that she only gets a reaction with Taylor's compound, a mixture of ppt and color change! 9. The person in seat 2 gets a ppt with Jory's reagent and a color change with Doreah's reagent. 10. Benjen and Ros are dating and they sit next to each other 11. Doreah sits in-between Mirri and Taylor 12. Syrio sits on the end 13. The person at seat 8 yells out that they get ppt with both Jory's and Doreah's reagents 14. At this point, time runs out and all the white walkers scramble to clean up and get out to conquer the wall Can The Night King figure out where everyone sits and what compound they have? Seat 2 person gives ppt with jory’s reagent (Sodium methoxide) and color change with Doreah’s reagent (Sodium t butoxide)

Benjen and Ros sit next to each other so Ros could seat will be 3 or 5 but 1-4 seats are for boys so Ros will sit at 5

Doreah sits between mirri and taylor (6), So mirri could be at 4 or 8 but mirri is girls so she will be at 8 and Doreah will be at 7.

Syrio is a boy and sits at the end so will be at 1

Seat 8 will be of secondary haloalkane (Mirri and 2 bromopropane)

Seat 3 will be of Jory (only remaining seat)

Visery’s and Benjen will be bromo methane/ bromoethane (Can’t differentiate)
