Rena 4 minutes ago 7. How do you know when two variables are inversely proportional and direct proportional to each other? Give one example of two variables that are inverse to each other from one experiment we did this semester and another example of two variables that are direct proportional to each other 8. How Ma (Va)=Mb (Vb) differs from M1(VI)-M2(V2)? Under what condition do you use these two formulas? Why is it important to dispose of chemical waste in the proper location? Explain. Is it ever acceptable to pour chemicals down the drain? Explain 9.

Explanation / Answer

Ans 7 :

There is general , if the two variables show a positive corelation, such that increase in value of one variable , increases the value of other variable , they are directly proportional.

On the other hand , if the variables show ,negative corelation , such that increase in value of one variable causes decrease in value of the other , they are called inversely proportional.

For example : in ideal gas law , pV = nRT

pressure is directly proportional to temperature and it is inversely proportional to volume of gas , when all other conditions are kept constant.
