a) 0.40 M = 0.4 mole/lit, 30 ml solution has = 0.03 L* 0.4 mole/lit, = 0.012 mole HOCl

b) 48 ml of 0.25 M NaOH = 0.25 mole /lit * 0.048 L = 0.012 mole

c) so the mole number of HOCl = mole number of NaOH. Therefore, it is the neutralization point of acid base titration and there sre no excess of proton or hydroxide ion. so, the pH = 7

d)15 ml of 0.25 M NaOH = 0.25 mole /lit * 0.015 L = 0.00375 mole of NaOH neutralize 0.00375 mole of acid to prepared 0.00375 mole of salt. mole of remaining acid = 0.012 mole - 0.00375 mole = 0.00825 mole

now, according to Henderson equation

pH = pKa + log [salt] / [acid]
