We Know that :       The I.R Spectrum of theReactant reveals that it has a double bond in the molecule We knowthat           C= C str. - 1640 cm-1            = C- H  str. - 3100cm-1       From the I.R Spectrum of theProduct it is clear that the molecule has OH group introduced inthe molecule because of      the absorption at 3350cm-1 The alcohol obtained in the product must besecondary alcohol as the absorption at       1150 cm-1 indicates the C- O absorption in 20 alcohols.            = C- H  str. - 3100cm-1       From the I.R Spectrum of theProduct it is clear that the molecule has OH group introduced inthe molecule because of      the absorption at 3350cm-1 The alcohol obtained in the product must besecondary alcohol as the absorption at       1150 cm-1 indicates the C- O absorption in 20 alcohols.
