Werequire chemicals in terms of a specific number (like 2 moles etc.), but wepurchase them in terms of masses, using mass = molar mass x no. of moles. 2) The "atomic scale" does not make any sense. But the scale whichwe deal with, varies from atomic level (of the order of A0 or ~10-10), like the air we breathe, or wavelength of light, to huge macro levels
