Searching the date when an activity starts and when it ends

Hello Excel(lent) users,

I am looking for the following: two formulas which determine in a row the first position in that row that has anentry in that row and the last position that has an entry in that same row.

For instance:

Based on the above I want to determine what the first day is where hours are planned for the particular activity.

E.G. in below example there is an activity which is scheduled to start on the 19th and finish on the 23rd. The first formula should come up with the starting date of 19th of Januari and the second formula should give me the end date of 23rd of Januari. Both formulas should be flexible; if there is a need to replan the start or end date.

Could you please help me with this?

For the last date, you may also try this

=LOOKUP(1E100,B3:Z3,$B$2:$Z$2)
