Question

ATP labeled with 32P a radioactive isotope of phosphorus at the gamma phosphate is added to a crude extract of a tissue rich in the enzymes of glycolysis along with glucose. what is the first intermediate of glycolysis that will no longer be radioactive? (Please give detailed explanation of answer) ATP labeled with 32P a radioactive isotope of phosphorus at the gamma phosphate is added to a crude extract of a tissue rich in the enzymes of glycolysis along with glucose. what is the first intermediate of glycolysis that will no longer be radioactive? Explanation / Answer

In organic phosphate (32pi) is incorporated into 1,3 bisphosoglycerate (1,3 BPG) at the C-1 after GADPH. BPG then becomes 3PG, and the 32pi ends up in ATP.
