Question
Arrange each set of atoms in order of decreasing ionization energy (IE1) and decreasing atomic radius: Cl, K, S, Ca i will rate this after looking through every responseExplanation / Answer
Cl>S>Ca>K, IE increases as you go across a period and decreases as you go down a group, however Group 2A & 5A have larger IE1 than group 3A & 6A respectively cuz of half filled p subshells, hope that makes sense! Oh sorry and atomic radius decreases as you go from left to right across a period and increases as you down a group, so the order I listed above just reverse it for atomic radius part!
