Explanation / Answer

The rate of reaction is first order with respect to A conc and also with respect to B concentration. Hence overall order of reaction is 2nd order.

When the conc of A is doubled keeping conc of B constant then the rate is doubled. Hence order of reaction with respect to A is 1st order.

When conc of B is increased by 1.4 times and then 1.2 times keeping concentration of B constant then rate also increases nearly 1.5 times and 1.2 times respectively. Hence order of the reaction with respect to B is 1st order.

As rate is 1st order wrt to A and 1st order wrt B hence overall rate is 2nd order.
