NO2 reacts spontaneously with CO and produces colorless gases NO and CO2 .So,the brown color of the NO2 will decrease as its amount decreases, until at equilibrium ,the equilibrium concentrations or amounts of NO2,CO,NO,CO2 is there,giving a less intense brown color to the mixture(as only little amount of NO2 is left over)
