The universal indicator help us to find the relative acidity/basicty of some chemicals. It has the ability to show the colour change according to the ph values of the solution. The follwing table can be used to understand the relative acidity/basicty strength.

pH (1to 2) : Red

pH (3 to 5) : orange

pH (5 to 6) : yellow

pH (7) : green

pH (8 to 9) : blue

pH (10) : navy blue

pH (11 to 12) : purple

pH (13 to 14) : violet

Now according to the table 0.001 M lactic acid having light red colour will be the most acidic, next will be 0.01 M nitrous acid (light orange) and then  0.01 M phenol (light yellow) and least acidic 0.001 M hydrogen peroxide (light green).
