2. As we add only 5 mL water to the mixture, some of the NaCl will be left in the mixture of SiO2-NaCl. So, we are not able to recover the entire amount of the NaCl from the mixture. To recover the maximum about of salt (NaCl) from the mixture, we should repeat or wash the mixture with 2-3 times with water.

3. The errors during the recovery which leads to yield less the 100% are:

(a) Do not mix the solution of mixture properly which lead to the less amount of salt solubility in water and salt remains in mixture only.

(b) Do not repeat the washing of mixture two-three times with water.

5. The recovery of NaCl is greater than 100%. This is because of NaCl contains some amount of water in it. That mean sample is not properly dried.
