Ans 1 :

A small pocket of air above the solution in the dialysis bag must be left during the dialysis procedure , because this air pocket allows the tube to float near the top of the dialysis solution , and also keeps it away from the stirring bar.

So this air pocket is necessary above the dialysis solution.
