Question
Hello everyone, I am currently in a combination chemistry class. And I am usually OK with conversions but for some reason I am having trouble with this one. Every time I do the math I get 1.05×10 to the -3 g but when I check the solutions it gives me 1.05×10 to the 3rd g. What am I? Can anyone break this down for me?If a sample of blood was found to have a density of 1.05 g/ml, What would be the mass of 1.000 L of this material express your answer with the proper number of significant figures. Explanation / Answer
given that, density = 1.05 gm/ml
volume = 1 L = 1 x 103 ml
we know that, density = mass / volume
or, mass = density x volume =1.05 gm/ml x (1 x 103)ml = 1.05 x 103 gm
