D-93139487 The reactions in the lab or it can be Part B The following reaction was caried out in a 225 L reaction vessel at 1100 K whether a reaction has r the reaction quotient, Q of a chemical and C(s) + H2O(g)-·CO(g) + H2(g) f during the course of the reaction, the vessel is found to contain 800 mol of C, 13.5 mol of H2O, 3.40 mol of CO, and 8 10 mol of H2. what is the reaction quotient Q Enter the reaction quotient numerically , Hints For the reaction the reaction quotient, Q. is glven by the expression Q= under amy conditions. The value of Qis equal to K Q 0.25 Part CExplanation / Answer
Given, V = 2.25 L , T = 1100 K
Also there are 8.00 mol C(s) , 13.5 mol H2O(g) , 3.40 mol CO(g) and 8.10 mole H2(g)
The reaction is -- C(s) + H2O(g) ----> CO(g) + H2(g)
Here C(s) will not appear in the Qc expression since carbon is in solid phase.
so Qc = [CO] [H2] / [H2O]
We know that , Concentration (C) = mole (n) / volume (L)
Therefore, [CO] = 3.40 mol / 2.25 L = 1.51 M
[H2] = 8.10 mol / 2.25 L = 3.6 M
[H2O] = 13.5 mol / 2.25 L = 6 M
Now,
Qc = [CO] [H2] / [H2O]
=> Qc=( 1.51 x 3.6 ) / 6
=> Qc=( 5.436 / 6)
=> Qc = 0.906
