Question
Anatomy Lever HELP!
A) I need help on Pectoralis Major Flexion. Can you please indicate between which 2 bones the muscle is located, the direction of force, the direction of load and the joint between the 2. If you could indicate a drawing and clear explanations, that would be greatly appreciated.
I am thinking it is between the clavicle and humerus bones. The joint moving is the glenohumeral joint and the force is going up, while the load is going down.
B) I also need help with Piriformis and Vastus Lateralis. If you could also provide explanations and a picture that would help tremendously!
Explanation / Answer
The pectoral is major muscle has two parts- clavicular heads and sternal heads. The clavicular head attaches with the medial half of the clavicle while the sternal head attaches with the sternum, upper costal cartilage. Distally it is attached to the lateral lip of intertubercular groove of humerus. The clavicular part flexes the arm at gleno humeral joint(shoulder joint). Sternal head extends the shoulder joint from the flexed position.when these both heads work together they bring out the median rotation of arm at glenohumeral joint and adducts the arm.
