question 2 helppp!!!!

Choose the one alternative that best completes the tionship between the following compounds? TIPLE CHOICE. Choose What is the relationship CH3 H Ccand Br CH 3 513 Br A) positional isomers B) constitutional isomers configurational isomers D) structural isomers E) conformational isomers 2) What is the e relationship between the following compounds? CH CH3 C H CH3 A) identical compounds B) diastereomers C) conformational isomers D) constitutional isomers E) enantiomers 1n0 3) Which of the following are chiral? A) CH3 r CH3 Cl

Explanation / Answer

Answer: D Constitutional isomers

Constitutional isomers will have same molecular formula but with different structures. The given two compounds have C3H7Cl molecular formula but the Cl atom in one compound is directly attached to 2nd carbon i.e 2-chloro-propane, whereas in right-side one is attached to 1st carbon i.e-1-chloro-propane. Actually these two are positional isomers as chlorine position is changed, but that option they are not given to us. Moreover using a wedge method does not gaurantee that those compounds are chiral. The above two compounds are achiral, hence no enantiomeric, diastereomeric relationship exists. Conformational isomers only applicable in Newmann projection not in Fischer projection.
