Question

Station D3 Heat Lab Goal of Lab: To relationsh and energy using a computer simulation. Procedure: 1. Visit PhET simulation "Gas Properties" at vestigate the relationship between molecular motion amililarize yourself with the settings and variables available for investigation. List those variables here: Planning Your Experiment: In your own words, form a prediction about the relationship between molecular motion and energy Consider the variables available to you in the simulation. How could you use these variables to test your prediction? Carefully consider which variable will you use to measure energy. Explain the logical reason for this choice.) Develop a method to test your prediction. (What are your treatment groups and controls? How Many trials will you run?) Make a table to collect your data.

Explanation / Answer

Energy can be in the form of heat so if we assume that we applied some heat to particles,
they start moving randomly and this distribution of molecular motion can be observed in
various patterns also it increases with temperature. So the molecular motion will increase
with energy as molecules get excited to interact.

Kinetic energy is associated with motion, in order to measure kinetic energy the temperature
is measured and a relationship is established between them. The intensity of energy is
measured in the form of temperature. Use the equation to predict the changes in the simulation.

To test the prediction increase the variable value of temperature and observe the response
which should be similar to previous one.
