You need to fill one tank with oxygen and the other with acetylene to use in conjunction with your welding torch. If you fill the larger tank with oxygen to a pressure of 135 atm, to what pressure should you fill the acetylene tank to ensure that you run out of each gas at the same time? Assume ideal behavior for all gases. Express your answer with the appropriate units.

lets take Room temperature(T) = 298 k

from ideal gas equation , PV = nRT

         no of mole of o2 = PV/RT

           = 135*7/(0.0821*298)

           = 38.6 mole

from the given equation

     2 mole C2H2 = 5 mole O2

NO of mole of C2H2 required = 38.6*2/5 = 15.44 atm

from ideal gas equation , PV = nRT

       
           P*3 = 15.44*0.0821*298

   P = pressure of C2H2 gas = 125.92 atm
