Question
pls help me to solve this question . its aabout thermodynamic
Performance task BKF1333 2017 Kalam.pdf but they must be stated clearly in your report. Thermodynamics aspects such as heat transfer area, enthalpy, heat, work and entropy, whichever applicable, must be calculated. Plate and frame heat exchanger Your cooling fluid is chilled water and the hot fluid is ethanol at 85°C, 2 kg/min. You are required to bring the ethanol temperature down to 30°C. Estimate the heat transfer coefficient; make assumptions of the number of plate and frame as well as type of material required. You are free to make additional assumptions in order to perform the calculation, but they must be stated clearly in your report. Thermodynamics aspects such as heat transfer area, enthalpy, heat, work and entropy, whichever applicable, must be calculated Vaporiser You have 10 litres mixture of 50% aqueous propanol at 20°C and were required remove all propanol from the solution. Estimate the heat transfer coefficient depending upon the type of vaporiser. You are free to make additional assumptions in order to perform the calculation,
Explanation / Answer
Ans. We can bring the ethanol temperature down from 85oCto 30oC by keeping ethanol containing flask with contact with water. By doing so, Equilibrium will be developed between water and ethanol and ethanol temperature will reach as lower as to 30oC.
Delta H = m C dT
m= mass of substance
C= specific capacity of substance
dT= change in Temperature
