2. There are various reasons why people resist change. These are-
a] Fear of competence- People think they will not be able to compete with the changing trend, whether at work place or society. They either underestimate themselves or think it to be useless.
b] No understanding about the change- Some people don't want to know the reason of change, as they are more comfortable in their present situations so they resist anything new.
c] Fear- When the change is not known to people, they are not able to trust it. They are not ready to take risk and bring the change in their lives as they are afraid of the consequences.
d] Lack of communication- If people are not explained about the transformation by their managment or boss, they are not able to take it positively. They build a feeling that this would affect their work life or even risk of losing their jobs.
Motivation can help to make people accept the change. It includes explaining all the good aspects of absorbing the change. This helps in creating a positive thought in the mind of people and they don't feel insecure about it. Motivation acts as catalyst to bring about change. It helps overcome all the barriers faced during implementation of a change in any organisation or individual's life.
