Question

Do 7&8 The equilibrium constant for the following reaction (balance first) is 218. Give the equilibrium expression and calculate the concentration of N_2 O_4 if the equilibrium mixture contains 0.050 M of NO_2? What do you know about a reaction when a reaction has a very small value for K_eq? Explain If a reaction had a rate of 35.0 at 10 degrees Celsius, what would the approximate rate of the reaction be at 40 degrees Celsius? Show work List three different factors that can increase the rate of a chemical reaction.

Explanation / Answer

Keq helps to predict which will be favoured at equilibrium. Keq = [products]/[reactants] a large value of k (k>>1) means the reaction will favour the products a lot more, meaning when the reaction reached equilibrium you will have mostly products.
when k is very small (k<<1) then you will have a lot more product at equilibrium

and when k=0 you have the same amount of product and reactant at equilibrium.
