Question: What are the enzyme, substrate, and product in these experiments?

For experiment 1 The Effect of Temperature on Catalase Activity

I used constant temperature baths of 3% hydrogen peroxide and 1 mL of catalase solution.

2nd experiment The Effect of substrate Concentration on Catalase Activity

I had constant temperature baths with water 3% hydrogen peroxide and 0.1 mL of catalase solution.

3rd experiment The Effects of pH on Catalase Activity

I had constant temperature baths and 3% hydrogen peroxide, pH 2 buffer, and 1 mL of catalase solution.

Please Explain!

Explanation / Answer

In this experiment enzyme is catalase.

Sustrate is hydrogen peroxide,H2O2.

Product is O2 and H2O.

Catalase acts as the catalyzing enzyme in the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide. Nearly all living things possess catalase. This enzyme, like many others, aids in the decomposition of one substance into another. Catalase decomposes, or breaks down, hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen.
