I have a quick question regarding the DMF organic liquid I want to make sure when I will run my thin layer chromatography with methanol , ethanol or ethyl accetate in developing chamber Which solvents will give me better rf vale in the range of .30-.60 which is the goal to get it for tlc Is ethyl acetate , methanol or ethanol? Explanation / Answer

Probably it will come in neat ethyl acetate. If it is not coming please try 98% ethylacetate and 2% methanol or 95% ethylacetate and 5% methanol.

Since methaol ot more polar. Rf value is more or less depend on the polarity of compound as well as TLC solvent.

DMF is not UV active
