1. Water has higher boiling point due to polarising nature of Oxygen atom giving rise to intermolecular hydrogen bonding. Hence, more energy is required to overcome this bond.
2. Due to large number of carbon atoms in the straight chain hydrocarbon, the boiling point is higher for n-pentane.
3. Boiling point of 2-chloropropane is higher than isobutane due to polarising nature of Chlorine atom giving rise to intermolecular hydrogen bonding.
4. Boiling point of 3-chloropentane is higher than 2,2-dichloropropane as the presence of 2 Chlorine atoms doesn't give rise to any dipole moment as they are present on the same carbon atom. In case of 3-chloropentane the number of Carbon atoms is also higher.
