A ) The major social and environmental concerns of the 21st century :

Environmental concerns :

Global warning : Global warning has a paining issue all around the world. Increased temperatures are causing trouble for existence to both the birds , animals and mankind.

Increased air and water pollution : Increased usage of personal vehicles , these emit a lot of carbon dioxide. Water is being polluted by changing lifestyles and forms of eating. Natural hazards : Nature has been little unkind to some of the countries that has faced severe adverse effects and has been a keen victim to natural hazards. Cities like Chennai in India has been under water for a week destroying all sort of power lines and communication. Chennai floods have costed around 300 crore loss and many lives.

Overfishing : Increased interest in sea food from all round the world makes the fishing even more harder and reduces the balance ein the aquatic life. Fish is the most traded food commodity from the sea world.

Increased used of Plastic : Enormous amounts of using plastic to wrap the food, carry the items and packing . This causes pollution in ocean and water bodies.

Social Concerns :

Increased gender discrimination : There are no equal rights and chances for employment for women in certain areas. This may cause imbalance in social lives of such women.

Gender inequality opportunities in education : Millions of girls and young women are facing a lot of barriers to gain minimum level of education. Uneducated women have very few work employment options. And these options may lead them into the dark side of the society, taking them away from the respectable status.

Economic growth : Recent economic crisis and reduced global economy changed the shape of the capitalism. Reduced economy growth is due to inadequate qualifications in the youth and unfair employment opportunities.

Advanced technology :Its been really hard to keep away the children from the attractive applications and games on the mobile phones and systems. Protecting confidentiality and children from advanced technology is a critical and delicate concern.

A ) Corporate social responsibility : Its an attempt by the business organizations to balance and integrate their economic social and environmental responsibilities towards the society they operate in. Creating certain standards to the organizations benefitting both the organization and the society.
