Employees are considered to be asset to the companies. For cost cutting many organisations may take the strategy of reducing the work force. In this scenario it is evident that some employees are very loyal to the company and they are in to the process for a long time with commitment. Average and above average employee mix plus newly hired employees are also there. Thus average employees are the one who falls on the mid tail of curve if we plot all the employee on a bell curve. The work force can be reduced by comparing average employees with newly hired employees, as anyhow above average employees has to be retained . Matching up skills sets, diverity required for the work force and various other quality and quantity parameters have to select the exact percentage of employees to be restigated. Newly hired employees has to be fired at greater ratio and few from average employees by ensuring the fact hat team balance is maintained in terms of quality of work focrce in terms of skillset and diversity.
