For this assignment you will turn in a 1 page Word document (.doc) which includes your “statement of career objectives” and at least 3 of the categories listed below (these may be in a bulleted list format).

A career portfolio is a great asset to help guide your future success. Your portfolio will be shaped by the experiences education and training you have had to this point in your life. As part of this course you’ll be creating several pieces of a career portfolio and learning about the other types of information that are often included.

As a student in this course you likely fit into two categories. One is as recent high school graduate or enrolled college/university student and the other as a student entering the workplace or embarking on a new career. For this assignment you’ll be creating your “statement of career objectives” which are often included in professional resumes and help guide choices you’ll make regarding your education and employment. In addition you’ll need to start creating a list of the supporting materials that help to illustrate your skills and experience.

The following is a list of the types of information often included in a career portfolio:

Explanation / Answer

The surge of unprecedented movement for a profound environment of a global economy has brought the world together creating significant opportunities for development of new methodologies. The field of finance and management has provided the wide platform for evolving solutions and academic research along with a focus on analytical approach. My career goal is to be part of academic research and explore my career in International finance through research and analytical approach and be part of the wider perspective for an efficient global economy.

I want to learn regarding diverse perspectives in financial markets, the repercussions and implications of financial applications and analysis along with finding new techniques for financial growth. I feel that a Master’s degree will help me to gain an idea of in-depth theoretical understanding of finance and management which will help me to apply it practically along with research skills. The understanding and application of quantitative analysis and qualitative approach in global finance is an area of interest for me.

I have strong computer skills with practical applications and experience of working on projects in School with extracurricular activities. I have developed analytical sills and understanding through practical application of theory in my projects. The knowledge of languages and interpersonal skills with a practical application by working in collaborative projects has further encouraged me to expand knowledge frontiers.

I am looking forward to being part of Master degree specialising in finance with exceptional faculty and research facilities. I am keen on being part of this collaborative learning culture and attach an important edge to my career and be one step closer to the fulfillment of my career objectives.
