Part - 1:

When the sample points collected for Survey are not interviewed due to un eagerness, non availability or not able to take up survey due to external factors, then it is called as Nonresponse error.

Way to reduce Non response error:

Four sources of error in measurement in Survey are

1) Interviewer: Eg: The answer by sample point is "Yes" but interviewer rescorded it wrongly as "No"

2) Interviewee: Eg: The Sample point may not have information on question asked & still answers it.

3) Questions in Survey: Confusing language of question or more than one answer possible for same qustion will lead to wrong answer. Eg: When did you last replace your phone and battery? So, in this case, there can be different answer for phone & battery.

4) Method of collecting data: Eg. When interviewing face to face the interviewee may take up the survey seriuosly & answer accordingly but in case of telephonic survey, the person may try to wrap up quickly without thinking much.

The shared vocabulory has positive impact on quality of resulting data as there are lesser chances of ambiguity and all concerned people have same understanding of the term being used.

The biased wording is not appropriate as it may have negative influence on some set of people. It can lead to conflict & thus hamper quality of data.

The adequate alternatives must be present for any question being asked else the interviewee may not be able to answer it correctly. Eg: If a person does Night duty at his office and Survey question put forth is: Between what time you get up daily in the morning? Options: A) 5am to 7am B) 7am to 9am C) 9am to 11am. So, the person may not be able answer unless there is an alternative of "Other" or "After 11am".
