We are living in the world full of show offs. Everyone wants look good and tries to adopt various method in order to make impression in front of others. On the same lines while working in factory people now a day's use of more and more contact lenses instead of using glasses. No doubt it looks nice to other people but it has more of demerits than merits. Firstly, while working in high heating conditions it is always recommended to use glasses rather than contact lenses because it can damage your eyes permanently. Secondly, if proper care of lenses is not done than it can cause irritation in eyes leading to severe eye problems. Last but not the least, doctors now a days prefer workers to use glasses because of more image clarity and clear cylindrical view which is absent while wearing lenses. Beside all this negatives it is useful to wear contact lenses only in some cases where there is more and more physical work.

Not sure what kind of comments you are looking for but here are few of my additions.

Factory environment is the area where safety is of more concern than any other criteria. The primary purpose of using glasses is to protect eyes in a factory setting where there is every chance of getting eyes exposed to harmful objects such as ash, fire sparks, broken pieces of equipment, smoke etc. This basic purpose that the glasses fulfil cannot be achieved by using lenses. In case of sudden shrapnel coming in a workers way, contact lenses cannot guard the eyes.

Moreover, the lenses are more of distraction at work than use. Improper usage may lead to distraction of the worker and this may result in poor quality of work or worse, other forms of accidents.

And also, contact lenses are not helpful in all work conditions. In cases of high heat surroundings, contact lenses can get permanently damaged and also create damage to eyes in the process.

Its not like glasses cannot be used for show-off. Glasses also come in different designs and yet serving their basic purpose. So glasses can be used as trendy and functional requirement at the same time.
