Yes its a serious concern to choose a supplier due to the environmental hazards which affects the supply chain one needs to understand that the supply chain has to be strong in ensuring that the transportation is done effectivley with less damages from one place to another. Suppliers who are reputed and see that the product safety is their while shipping shall be chosen by the vendors. The competition has been tough as many suppliers have come into existence who can supply the product from one place to another. Their have been environmental hazards and challenges where the product shipment is taking problem. All the countries who are developed have chosen airlift as the safest mode however this is one of the costliest way which has been expensive for the companies. Generally where the equipments are heavy the selection of the supplier is based on the reliability and wheather is he a reputed suppliers. All these conditions are mentioned in the agreement which will have no problem at the later stage. The procurement manager and the CEO should be involved in decisding the supplier as they are the right person who can decide the genuiness of the supplier and enquiy can be done of his work by the other suppliers.In a large extent the proximity of the customers. supplier selection is related to the execution of a successful corporate strategy its true that when the finished product is ready for shipment time management and on time performance plays a critical role of the product.
