Write a 500-750 word, APA style paper, explaining why you believe people should or should not be allowed to vote (either local or national elections) using the Internet. In your paper include a discussion of the opposing position along with your rebuttal (of that opposing position). For instance, if you decided to write a paper explaining that people should be allowed to vote using the internet, then the opposition would be that they should not be allowed to use the Internet to vote. After you have given the opposition's reasons, respond with your rebuttal of the opposition. Explaining means to give details about something: to give an account of something with enough clarity and detail to be understood by somebody else. Explanation / Answer

With the world going high tech, from purchasing from e - retailers, to settling marriages, every big to the biggest of things we do in our daily lives, is available and preferred to be done online. Then why not Vote?

Purchasing or marrying online, is a personal choice, and the government take the responsibility of the same. Yes safe financial transactions are responsibility of the banks, but are controlled by multiple levels of scrutiny checks, and two way safety. Moreover online payments frauds are not new, and often prone to hackings and wrong doings.

But can’t we have a secured way to Vote? After all, financial transaction have multi party dealings, but Voting is only a two way process – between the voter and the government. There are several ways to make the voting more secure, with social security numbers of each individual voter, or other unique identifiers, which make the process more fool proof.

Financial hackers may not be in such a high scale, because one or two financial frauds, may not be so fruitful. But when one is dealing with a country’s government selection, the same hacking may be sponsored by biggest of anti-social elements and enemy countries, which makes the hacker’s group potentially very dangerous and strong (financially, technologically & support wise)

With technology advancements, and government’s strong data base, tracking with the help of Biometric data of each voter, should not be very daunting & dangerous task. As voting is any citizen’s fundamental right, so is the online availability of the same.
