Question

Firing someone is not an easy task for the manager or the HR professional, but sometimes it is necessary. You have recently been promoted to the HR Director role in your organization. Upon review of all the procedures, policies and activities you have discovered that rather than having progressive discipline conversations that lead to a process of corrective behavior or dismissal, managers have been reducing work hours, giving these employees unpleasant tasks, making them work late at the last minute without warning, or negatively modifying their jobs with the hope that the employee will quit. What are the ethical implications of doing this? What is the impact on the morale of the organization? What training would you need to do with your managers to discontinue this behavior and help them impact the positive behavior of their employees? For a HR class

Explanation / Answer

1) Ethical implications: employees will have bad behaviour. Employees will stop concentrating on Job. regualr orguments in the team. Employees stop working as per the norms of the organisation .

2) Impact on moral of organisation : Organisation culture will be damaged. employees will stop following the principles of organisation and get distracted . They do not follow the right behaviour

3) HR director should call for a meeting with all the managers. He should explain the pricinples and policies of organisation. He should understand the behaviour of manager. He should have meeting with Manager in person. He should explain the complaints made by employees without disclosing the identity of employees. He should send warning letter to manager who is not following the principles of organisation. He should insist every manager that if company rules are not followed or he will be fired.
