Explanation / Answer
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a term which describes the responsibilities an organization has towards the society. This responsibility is of choice of what an organization wants to give back to the society. It is always linked with the strategic goal of creating value for the organization with the customers’ perspective. The main objective of CSR is to increase long term profits and gaining trust of stakeholders through positive public relations and high ethical standards to reduce business legal risks.
Organizational Capabilities & Leadership Competencies
Design / Strategy of the implementation of the CSR initiative within the organization – An organization structure should be flexible enough to adapt to the changes required for the implementation of the initiative.
Methods & Approach selected for successful implementation of CSR throughout an organization – Proper methods should be selected for the implementation and the human resource of the organization should be trained and made aware of the initiative.
Results – Results should be analyzed so as to compare the actuals with the expected ones. If any deviation found need arises for the organization to take necessary steps for them to eliminate or motivate the cause of the deviation.
Continuous process - CSR is not a one time process that starts and ends with the results. It is a continuous process as the value created should also be maintained. Management initiative to lead the process and continuously monitor and improve or change the process of initiative is required.
