Implications of being directed by others: being part of this kind of organization has its advantage especially when you start developing in you professional specialty, so you can learn in the practice how an organization in your area of interest is developed without being the main responsible of its right operation. On the other hand, you must always report back to a supervisor and accomplish a third party’s objectives, sometimes even if it goes against a different idea you may have to achieve the same objective with a better procedure, and correlating with all kind of coworkers with different personalities and capacities in order to achieve these objectives.

Implications of self-direction: it is probably the objective of many of us that work for a boss: to be able to run your own organization; however, this requires a lot of knowledge regarding the target market of the product or service that you plan to offer, your localization, investment capacity and many more factores in order to make the correct investment in a demanding organization that at the same time allows you to develop your own ideas. Other factor to consider in the case of being self-employee like a doctor for example that services through medical consultation, the disadvantage is that the doctor only perceives earnings as long as he/she is offer consults; the goal would be to create an organization that generates earnings for you through residual incomes.
